Read, Write and Just Plain USE the Room in Style
First…. the bummer news. Rumor now has it that our class size numbers will NOT change this year and I will have the usual 30 kiddos.
Why would the district publicly announce such change and then not follow through? IDK.. SMH… tho thad and all that stuff.
I’m taking a break from cutting all of this:
Nope.. those aren’t my colors. It’s not for me. I am making them for my friend and 1st grade teammate for 15 years. Her class is ladybug themed. Her printer wasn’t her friend this evening so I told her I would do it because she wants to go into her room tomorrow and work… and I do not. 🙂
Before last school year ended she mentioned she wanted this:
That’s my number line at the front of my room, above my main white board. I REALLY like it. It’s color-coded for odds/evens, counting by 2s and the 5s are delineated by little bows.
So, one of my jobs this summer was to make her a black and red version. But then I got thinking about all of the other things we have our kiddos use in the room and how it all MUST match. Thus the mess you see on my floor above.
But then I got thinking that my other friend and 15 year 1st grade teammate would want one for her bee themed classroom, too… so that resulted in:
- an adorable number line ready to be hung on your own favorite ribbon
- number word cards that include images for subitizing
- classroom labels – perfect for “read and write the room”
- focus wall labels
