I’m Back…and So is Spring… Kind Of

See, I didn’t abandon y’all on purpose! I really wanted to open my computer to do things other than enter assessment scores and grades. But LOTS of stuff got in the way. Things have been insane around here the past week. Insane, I tell you!
We’ve been up to our elbows in dirt, planting seeds while learning that those seeds are filled with a storage of food for the little baby plant… said one of my kiddos in response to that revelation: “You’ve got to be kidding me? That’s amazing!”
It kind of is. Nature is pretty incredible there, buddy.
We put grass seeds in cups. I was going to let them create funny faces on the cups using Sharpies as always, but then Pinterest happened and….
How could I NOT do this??? Ridiculously cute! I’ve never been so excited about growing grass seed! Can’t wait to glue their little pics to those cups! They are going to go nuts. You just may hear them. Oh, wait, you probably already do on a daily basis. Seriously the loudest.class.ever.
I put up one of my favorite bulletin boards Friday afternoon. Such a fabulous way to “spring forward”. I was hanging these up while listening to the downpour outside. Good ol’ Mr. Sun was NOT shining down on my sunflowers. Maybe next week. 😀
It’s pretty difficult to see in these pics, but there is actually a lot of writing going on with this little craft… all over it in fact. It is definitely a “craftivity”. 😀
Factual writing. Informative Text. Common core coming out our ears people!
The Sunny Sunflower Plant Science Unit has lots of other goodies that we will be doing over the next few weeks. You can grab a copy in either of my stores.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps!
