Teaching Tips – Scaring Crows and Taking Pictures of It!
My “buddy” came to visit my kiddos and I on Friday.
I say “buddy” because that’s what I heard out of one of my kiddos… all day long.
“Isn’t your buddy coming?”
“When is your buddy going to be here?”
“I thought your buddy was going to do a lesson with us.”
No matter how many times I said, “My friend will be here at the end of the day” this little particular kiddo couldn’t let it go.
Maybe he somehow sensed how amazingly awesome she is.
You all know how awesome she is.
This is what she did with my class.
Scarecrow Fun with Miss Kindergarten
Yes, Hadar came to visit and did a craft with my kiddos. They loved it. They’ve been dealing with my squeaky “in and out” voice for a week, but poor Hadar had NO voice. I was so grateful she still came by my neck of the woods on her day off when obviously she would have been better served to save her voice.
For me, it was a perfect way to end the school day. We said goodbye to the kiddos. And went to a late lunch!
Fabulous beginning to a 3-day weekend if you ask me!
I’m adding a little contribution to Miss Kindergarten’s Teaching Tip linky party. It’s so simple – but I swear – so helpful!
Have you ever brainstormed a whole lot of stuff on your white board and then had a kiddo called out of class to go home, or for whatever reason – only to have them return after whatever lesson you were doing when that lesson is over and the board is now erased…. but that kiddo was not done?
Not too long ago, I got smart about this little problem. Now, I just take a picture of whatever is on the board before I erase it if we need to move on but kiddos are absent, out of the room, or simply moving a little too slow. Then I print it out and give it to them to keep with the unfinished work in their “unfinished work folder” they keep in their desk. This allows them to work at their pace, yet still get the lesson completed whenever time allows.
Simple – but effective!
My most important tip however, is to end your Fridays on a wonderful note.
